Mie Igarashi GASA* Designer “GASA*” means “gauze” in Spanish. “Gauze” is a material that feels gentle against the skin—the first fabric a newborn baby touches—and is used to treat wounds and injuries.


Although it is a delicate material, it has the strength to wrap things securely.


We chose this brand name because we want our brand to embody both that kindness and that strength.

The brand’s logo also features a stylized asterisk “*.” It represents the color of the ocean and the light reflected off its surface, embodying the brand’s desire to create expressions that, like the ocean, know no borders.

BRAND STYLE

GASA*’s clothing begins with the creation of original fabrics based primarily on natural materials, and we design our pieces with a focus on details, color schemes, and balance, making the most of those materials.

In addition to offering unique styling options made possible by layering, we offer a full range of clothing and accessories. In the finer details of our designs, we incorporate a blend of traditional elements and techniques—such as those found in various ethnic costumes—along with new technologies. Nearly all of our products undergo a pre-wash treatment to bring out the natural texture of the materials.

Furthermore, by adding a dash of unique “playfulness” and “Japanese elegance,” we express the world of GASA*.
