Commonly known as the "German Trainer," these shoes were supplied to the former German military as sports shoes for indoor training from the 1980s.
This special color edition, available only in Japan and around the world, retains the specifications of the current model "ref. 1000," which is still officially issued to the German Federal Armed Forces as an official supply item, but features the BW archive sole seen on vintage models from the 1980s and 1990s.
The upper is made of cow leather from a long-established European tannery that complies with the DIN standard of TL (Technical List) No. 8430-0048, and the toe puff trim, which also protects the toes, is made of split velour leather.
The shoe tongue, made of non-woven fabric with a PVC coating, is engraved with the Mondopoint size recommended by the international standard shoe size standard "ISO 9407:1991" used by military organizations such as NATO, the approximate date of manufacture, and the manufacturer's number as proof of military approval.
The BW SPORT sole, which provides cushioning that supports the sole of the foot and the spine, as well as excellent grip and durability, is made with a precise mold design that encompasses all of the ergonomics, structural mechanics, and statistics of the time. It has been manufactured for over 40 years, investing development costs that a single company would not be able to afford.
