Pants based on work pants said to have been worn by modern workers, fishermen, and their children in the Volendam region of the Netherlands.
A relaxed piece with a loose silhouette that offers comfortable wear.
The front features a distinctive buttoned marine pants style, with covered buttons giving an elegant impression. Only the back waist is elastic.
The material is a high-density jacquard with a diamond motif reminiscent of batik. Within the diamond grid formed by fine organic touches, patterns resembling plants and flowers are depicted.
The diamond pattern dates back to Jomon pottery, and its roots are said to be the shape of water plant leaves and seeds called hishi. The diamond shape is also considered a symbol of prosperity and abundance, and is cherished as one of the auspicious patterns.
By weaving with thread of the same color, it creates a mature and luxurious material.
