Light, soft, and fluffy. This shawl is woven with softly twisted wool and cotton yarns. The pattern is not monotonous, and changing the way you wrap it gives a different look. Compared to cotton shawls, it has considerably more volume.
■ Tamaki Niime and Banshu-ori
Banshu-ori, a yarn-dyed cotton fabric produced in the Kitaharima area of Hyogo Prefecture with a history dating back to the 4th year of the Kansei era. Tamaki Niime uses vintage looms from the 1960s-80s used in Nishiwaki City to create Banshu-ori with a new interpretation of its 220-year tradition.
