Orientalism was popular in medieval Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries. This piece was created with the image source of clothing embroidered with arabesque patterns from that time.
The botanical embroidery, which abstracts flowers and leaves, is rhythmically applied with soft curves, creating a lighter impression. The size allows for layering, and the cocoon-like rounded silhouette is elegant and serves as a styling accent.

[Fabric: Napping Cotton double cloth]
A heavy cotton double cloth material with napping finish.
Napping is a process that raises the surface fibers. This treatment gives the fabric a soft touch, warmth, and a unique appearance. It is said to have originated from wool woven for shepherds and hunters in the 1300s, where the wool was intentionally made into a pilled state to hide scratches caused by branches. Usually, this process is applied to wool, but here it is applied to cotton, making it a practical material for everyday use.
