Tree worship print
In this collection, apple trees and grape trees were the objects of tree worship. In the Christian Garden of Eden, grape trees are the trees of life and apple trees are the trees of knowledge. With the idea of ​​gaining wisdom in the forests visited during pilgrimages, a map-like pattern was created that shows the apple trees to be worshipped by following the ivy growing on the trees in the forest. The pale pink flowers in the print are apple tree flowers and indicate the location of the trees. The plants used are morning glories, passionflowers, and other plants with heart-shaped leaves. The leaves, with notches here and there, imitate the scallop shell, which is the symbol of the pilgrimage (the most famous pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, located near the border between Spain and France), and serve as a landmark to help people not get lost. The plain weave is made of 20/1 uneven cotton yarns vertically and 20/1 uneven cotton linen yarns horizontally. The yarns are arranged in a gentle way so that you can feel the texture of the yarns, making it bulky but breathable. It is inkjet printed with a moderate sheerness.
